The IECEx Certification of Personnel Competence (CoPC) under the IECEx System is an internationally recognised certification for personnel working in hazardous (Ex) environments. It ensures that individuals are competent to perform work safely in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, and manufacturing.

This programme provides essential knowledge and practical application related to explosive atmospheres, including the installation, inspection, and maintenance of Ex equipment.

To achieve IECEx CoPC certification, participants must complete the required training, demonstrate relevant work experience, and successfully pass both theory and practical assessments. SIRIM Academy offers preparatory training aligned with the following IECEx units:

  • EX00 – Basic knowledge & awareness
  • EX01 – Application of Ex principles
  • EXC178 – Inspection of electrical installations
  • EXC1378 – Installation & inspection
  • EXC1478 – Maintenance & inspection
  • EXC13478 – Combined competency (awareness, installation & inspection)
